Hi! I’m Karen, a recovering lifelong yoyo dieter and now a qualified Nutrition & Weight Loss Coach.
After leaving home at about 18 and discovering that takeaways were tastier and less effort than cooking for myself I spent most of my 20’s and 30’s as a yoyo dieter. Losing weight was easy in my 20’s, although I always gained it back again with a few more pounds on top when I reached my goal weight and stopped dieting.
As I moved towards my late 30’s I found that the weight wasn’t coming off as easily so I had to work harder. I tried virtually every diet out there from WeightWatchers to Slimming World, SlimFast, the 5:2 diet, Keto, Intermittent Fasting to name but a few. I even resorted to diet pills and laxatives – something I’m not proud of.
Eventually I shifted the weight, but again it piled back on when I finished dieting. I had heard other dieters at weight loss classes comment that it gets harder to lose weight as you get older and I knew it wasn’t healthy to keep living like that, plus I was miserable – with my size, my diet, my lifestyle – so I decided to do something about it.
I started to think more about healing my relationship with food rather than just losing weight. I learned about mindful and intuitive eating and whilst losing weight I retrained as a Nutrition Advisor and then undertook additional training as a Diet & Weight Loss Coach.
Now I’m on a mission to help other ladies like me live life, love food, feel great, lose weight AND keep it off FOR GOOD!
